DESCRIPTION

• The Department of War (DoW) seeks solutions for a prototype effort to develop and demonstrate a novel platform-mounted bathymetry and imagery mapping capability which is not currently in existence. The prototype will leverage commercial sensor technologies, modular hardware, and interoperable software components while incorporating a platform-connected sensor configuration capable of interfacing with existing platform mission systems to produce higher-quality undersea data in both open-ocean and littoral environments.

• The Subsea Undersea Reconnaissance and Geospatial Exploitation (SURGE) prototype project will improve undersea sensing, enhance geospatial product generation, and accelerate mission-relevant data delivery for Navy platforms. A successful prototype includes a build–integrate–bench/pier-side demonstration of the SURGE capability to inform transition decisions.

CLASSIFICATION: The SURGE Prototype Project will be TOP SECRET.

RELEASE DATE: The expected release date for the request for solutions (RFS) is 2QFY26.
