DESCRIPTION OF THE OPPPORTUNITY
The Department of War (DoW) seeks solutions for a prototype effort to develop and demonstrate a novel 5G Secure Slicing capability at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island (NASWI). By integrating commercial 5G slicing technology with new architectural, security, and access enhancements, the prototype will create a new operational capability for the Department of War (DoW) over a commercial Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN).
The primary goals are to evaluate the solution's real-time performance and resiliency in an operational environment, thereby reducing integration and cybersecurity risks for future wireless modernization. Success is defined by two key deliverables: a successful operational demonstration of the capability and the delivery of a complete technical data package that documents the final architecture, configuration, and performance results. The NASWI 5G Secure Slicing Prototype Project is UNCLASSIFIED..
AWARD AUTHORITY: 10 U.S.C. § 4022
The NASWI 5G Secure Slicing will develop and demonstrate a novel 5G network slicing capability not currently in existence built on a commercial PLMN with new DoW-specific enhancements developed and demonstrated to provide installation-wide secure wireless capabilities.
ANTICIPATED FUNDING
The OUSW(R&E) anticipates a single award to a project level performer not to exceed $7.5M. The OUSW(R&E) reserves the right to make no awards depending on the solutions received.
