PROJECT NAME: XLUUV Shore to Sea Operational Assessment Prototype (SSOAP) Project

KEY TECHNICAL AREA(S): Unammed Systems (UxS)

DESCRIPTION

• The Government seeks solutions to develop, demonstrate, and validate an autonomous Large Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (LUUV) Containerized Launch System (CLS) that provides a modular and transportable capability for launching LUUVs from shore, pier-side locations, and surface vessels. The prototype is intended to reduce reliance on specialized infrastructure, heavy-lift equipment, and personnel while increasing the flexibility and speed of LUUV deployment. The prototype will demonstrate autonomous launch from heights of at least 15 feet and an adaptable design capable of accommodating different LUUV configurations with minimal system modification. Successful completion will result in a demonstrated and validated LUUV CLS prototype suitable for continued development, scaling, operational implementation, and potential follow-on production.

CLASSIFICATION: The LUUV CLS Prototype Project will be UNCLASSIFIED.

RELEASE DATE: The expected release date for the request for solutions (RFS) is 1QFY27.
